Connecticut Civil Unions become Marriages

October 4th, 2010 by Chris Rich - REALTOR | 1 Comment | Filed in Gay Life in Connecticut, Gay Marriage

It is with pride that I share the news that all civil unions performed in Connecticut prior to October 1st, 2010 are now legally recognized as marriages. The state has now done away with civil unions and recognizes only marriage as a legal partnership, both for heterosexual and same-sex couples.

If you were partnered in a Civil Union in CT, although your Connecticut state rights remain the same, you will enjoy the recognition and social acceptance of being considered a married couple. Congrats to all!
